🌊 What Type of Witch is a Sea Witch?

A Faelorin Field Guide to Tides, Depth, and the Unseen Beneath the Surface

🌙 An Invocation

There is a movement that cannot be held.

It rises -
then recedes,
without asking permission,
without needing to remain.

The Sea Witch understands this.

Not as something to control.
But as something to follow.

🌊 What is a Sea Witch?

A Sea Witch is a practitioner who works with the energy of water - particularly the ocean, tides, and the emotional and intuitive depths they reflect.

Their craft is not fixed.

It shifts.

It responds.

It moves through:

  • tides and lunar pull
  • emotional awareness
  • the unseen layers beneath what is shown

They do not resist change.

They learn its rhythm.

🌊 The Sea Witch does not steady the waters. They learn how to move with them.

🌊 The Living Practice

This path is felt before it is understood.

It appears in moments like:

  • standing at the edge of the sea, watching without needing to act
  • noticing how emotion rises and falls, rather than fixing it in place
  • allowing stillness to exist even within movement

Water does not hold one shape.

Neither does this practice.

A ritual may be:

  • a bath taken with intention
  • a moment of listening to rain
  • the act of letting something go, without resistance

Nothing is forced.

Everything is allowed to move.

🌊 The Nature of Their Power

The Sea Witch works with depth.

Not everything is visible on the surface -
and not everything needs to be.

They understand:

  • emotion is not weakness it is information
  • change is not disruption - it is continuation
  • what is unseen often holds more than what is shown

Their power comes from:

  • allowing
  • sensing
  • releasing

They do not hold tightly.

They know when to let go.

🌼 Signs of the Path

This path often feels like sensitivity -
but deeper.

You may recognise it if:

  • you feel strongly, even when you don’t show it
  • you are drawn to water - oceans, rain, rivers, tides
  • your mood shifts in ways that feel connected, not random
  • you process internally, rather than outwardly

There is often a sense of depth -
of something always moving beneath what is visible.

🌻 Beginning

You do not need the ocean to begin.

Water is already part of your life.

Start with awareness.

Notice:

  • how water moves
  • how it reflects
  • how it changes without resistance

Bring intention to small acts:

  • washing hands
  • bathing
  • sitting with the sound of rain

Let yourself feel - without needing to resolve.

This is where the practice begins.

🌙 The Faelorin Understanding

The Sea Witch does not seek to remain unchanged.

They understand that stillness and movement can exist together.

They know:

  • depth cannot be rushed
  • clarity often comes after movement, not before
  • what is released creates space for what follows

They do not try to hold the tide.

They trust that it will return.

🌑 Closing Reflection

If this path calls to you, it may not feel steady.

It may feel shifting.
Layered.
Difficult to name.

Like standing at the edge of something vast -
watching it move,
knowing you cannot stop it,
and realising you do not need to.

Nothing asks you to control the water.

Only to enter it
without resistance.
